Portland

July 9, 2019

We made it to Portland to visit with Jason for a few days ago, just getting to the blog, now as we have had poor wifi but more than that we have all been socializing and touring and catching up on things and, well, it’s been busy. What a great time we have been having, it is so good to be able to hang our with our son - if even for only a few days. We went up to a park along a river and played in the water, ate at wonderful restaurants, went out to Astoria in search of Goonies and Ben jumped into the Pacific Ocean. A month ago he was in Bermuda and now jumping into the Pacific, he’s a well traveled boy.

Jason got a new Subaru Crosstrek

We are fortunate that Jason has just purchased a new car as we have been spoiled by being chauffeured all over the state…thanks Jay! It is a really nice car, and Carol and I love our Subaru too. The RV park we are staying at in Portland is fairly centrally located…near a Walmart, a CVS, a Home Depot and a PetCo. It is also very close to the airport, and we think that most travelers like to get out of town early in the morning. We wake up every morning to the sound of MANY jets taking off right over our heads, and did I mention the US Navy exercising their fighter jets every morning too. . . The RV park is also right on a wonderful bike path which is flat and fun to ride, right along the Columbia River. Harper has been enjoying herself here in Portland and is likely wondering why we haven’t gone on any long rides recently. Ben left on Sunday afternoon and we miss him already..and Harper misses him too. Those two loved to rough house and play.

Harper is keeping an eye on the other dogs.

Going to keep this short as we are going out to supper in a few minutes, so I am gonna end this with a gallery of pix from the area. I will try to caption as many as I can before Jason the taxi arrives…
