Just wanted everyone to know that I am thankful for all of my friends who . . .

Being retired folks, for the most part, we can take off midweek and go where ever the heck we want, well mostly. As some of you may know I like to bake, especially bread, and I am a fan of King Arthur Flour, for no particular reason other than I am. So what better thing to do on a mid-week adventure. . .

Forty nine years ago today I proposed to Carol. This landmark has made me stop and take pause and reflect a bit on the past half a century. . .

Last weekend we took off with our little trailer to be a part of an annual event called Hoot & Howl. A camping weekend with a group of vintage trailer folks from throughout New England and the surrounding states. We were invited by the ear Jerkers group of teardrop trailer folks when we went to the Ross Hill weekend back in August.

Today we got out early and headed for the Mowry Conservation Area in Smithfield, Rhode Island. This is a place where we have hiked before and have always found it to be a great hike. Today turned out no differently, with the exception

It was a long day today. I am writing this in a hotel in East Windsor, CT. Grace, our granddaughter has a Lacrosse Tournament tomorrow, here in East Windsor — we couldn’t miss that. We had a quick breakfast this morning, I made eggs and toast, Carol had her fruit filled oatmeal. We both had fried toast..I know, I know, not the best for you.

Since we has such high dollar winnings at the casino yesterday and a long days drive ahead of us we, after having coffee we headed to the nearest Tim Hortons (Canada’s version of Dunkin Donuts) and ordered up some coffee and egg things.

As we were standing and having our coffee and looking off to the Atlantic from our high bluff this morning, an eagle soared just overhead. Back and forth he soared. We took this as a good sign as today is also. . .

The night turned very cold and when we woke up we were freezing. I turned on the little furnace and within minutes Stellas was a nice and warm and cozy. However the inevitable trip to the shower meant a walk in the cold. Little Stella was covered in frost…so it WAS cold. Interestingly when Carol went to the ladies washroom, the frenzied little man walked in on her. . .

So another earlyish start to the day. I made fried potatoes and omelets for breakfast, a quick shower and we were off down the road once again. Today we would be leaving . . .

We awoke to a sunny morning but it was a bit chilly. I made up some breakfast, flapjacks and Canadian bacon. Carol had purchased somewhere a flapjack mix. It seems to be wholewheat flour with rolled oats in it. I am going to figure out . . .

We awoke late to a rainy and windy morning. I made some coffee and Carol and I sat in the Vistabule and chatted while sipping our coffee. Rain was on again and off again. Our neighbor was in a tent and . . .

When I got up this morning the clouds had cleared and the sun was making it's way over the horizon painting the sky a beautiful pink and yellow. Carol was still snoozing so I began…
